45th is a multi media project but at it's heart is over 600 cyanotypes printed on trash. It explores the 2016 election and what a Trump presidency means. The idea of printing cyanotypes on trash is a not so subtle metaphor of my personal views on Donald Trump and what him getting elected means to me, this country, the world as a hole, and many minority groups that have already been disenfranchised by politics in America even before somebody like Trump took office. The project deals with more than just who Trump is and what he represents but how somebody like him could rise to the presidency. 45th deals with the corruption of the democratic national committee, the lack of transparency and trustworthiness of Hillary Clinton, the use of the media as a political weapon, the rise of white nationalism after the first black president, the willingness of some people to believe or justify -out of fear- anything Donald Trump said or did no matter how outlandish or unconstitutional, and many other aspects of the sensationalization of the election in general. This work is ongoing and I encourage people to interact with it.
